Being in the industry since 1996, GERATEC continues to proudly provide the highest quality and innovative contract services at competitive rates to older persons in long term residential facilities. Over the years our services have grown from food and beverages services to restaurant and coffee shop offerings, housekeeping, laundry, and full facility management services. We assist clients to coordinate service delivery, allowing for holistic management of operational functions.
In addition, our Care and Support Teams provide a comprehensive range of clinical care services, including companionship, assistance with activities of daily life and specialised clinical nursing care when needed.

Age-Friendly Communities
Research shows that people are living longer than ever these days. There are several reasons for this, including increased access to basic medical services, growing food quality, improved hygiene standards, and many more.
According to the World Health Organization, in 2000, 11% of the world population was over the age of 60. Forecasts suggest that this figure could double to 20% by 2050.
This trend is also noticed in South Africa. According to Stats SA, 9%, or 5.2 million of the South African population is currently over the age of 60.
GERATEC’s business objective is to establish and grow sustainable, multi-generational communities in which older people are supported to achieve and maintain a quality of life that is optimal, given the circumstances of each individual.
In line with the above objective, GERATEC developed the project “GERATEC Age-Friendly Communities” during 2019. The project aims to work with communities where we already provide services, with GERATEC clients who manage residential facilities, key role players and older people themselves, to support and provide older people wherever they live, depending on the needs of the community.
